Analysis
While in his 6th year, Wayne was not used much until 2020, and even then his use has been very limited. He can line up anywhere on the field: in the slot, out wide, or even in the backfield. From what I have seen is Wayne has really good top end speed. There are moments where he can get over the top of defenses and get open. He also has good route running and footwork. When the ball is in his hands he is shifty and hard to get a hold of. He does a decent job of blocking and being able to hold off his man until the ball carrier is past him. One of the main issues I noticed is that he seems to catch the ball twice at times. I’m interested to see his hand size to know if that is an issue for him. Also the production is not there, but that seems to be because Jalen Tolbert was a crutch for the starting QB and he got most of the targets, even when Wayne would be wide open. I am curious to see if this season can help him improve his draft stock due to him likely being one of the main guys.
